The 1990 7up Mustang was a cooperation between the soft drink company and Ford as a promotion aimed at the 1990 NCAA finals. The unique Mustang LX 5.0 convertibles were all Emerald Green with white tops and white leather interior and GT turbine wheels. Only 30 were slated to be build for a giveaway at the Basketball finals. At the last minute, 7up dropped support for the project. Ford elected to build 4103 of the special edition convertibles after the promotion was axed. Of the 4103, 1360 were equipped with manual transmissions and 2743 were automatics.
This particular 7up convertible is a nice, clean, low-mileage example. At only 68k miles, it’s been well cared for, and adult owned. The 5.0 engine and automatic transmission perform as intended. Everything works. It’s an excellent driver. The car’s clear autocheck shows a calculated 3 owners. Always a Texas car, it has no rust and wears most of its nice, original paint. There is only slight wear on the car’s original white convertible top and white leather interior. It’s totally stock and runs and drives great.
Fox body Mustangs are on the rise. Special edition models like the (un-official) 25th-anniversary, 7up Mustang are bound to become the collectible Mustangs of the future. This car is a great value with its low miles and clean condition.
